This fairly flat route travels from the Tustin Metrolink station south to The Dunes in Newport Beach. It winds its way through Tustin, Irvine and eventually through the Newport Beach Back Bay to Balboa Island. We’ve pointed out some mile-by-mile points of interest and offer several areas to enjoy a meal, view or take in the local wild life. Mile 1
The District at Tustin Legacy. Short side trip. Leave bike path at Barranca Parkway. Head north about .25 miles. Stop is just over a mile into ride.
Mile 5
Visit the San Joaquin Marsh Reserve. Exit trail at Campus Drive.
Turnaround option
Head east one mile. University Center. Places to eat and relax.

Mile 7
Just before mile 7 you'll enter the Upper Newport Bay Nature Preserve. Follow trail as it winds through the Newport Back Bay.
Mile 10
The trail intersects Jamboree Road. Take Jamboree across PCH onto Balboa Island. Great places to have lunch and relax.

The Tustin station is located at the intersection of Edinger and Jamboree Road. It is located within easy reach of a number of shopping and business centers. The District at Tustin Legacy is 2 miles from the station and a short 4-mile trip to the heart of Old Town Tustin.
Yes, you can bring your bikes on Metrolink. We even have a special car dedicated to bike storage. It is typically the third passenger car and is clearly marked. Please review Metrolink's bike guidelines.
We always suggest when planning your adventure to check the Metrolink train schedule to the Tustin Station. Both the Orange Line and Inland Empire-Orange County Line serves this station.
