Once you have subscribed to OCTA Alerts, to discontinue receiving Text4Next messages from OCTA, you will simply text “STOP” to 628246 and you will be removed from the list.

SMS Messaging and Consent

OCTA provides a text-and-response(Text4Next) SMS service for transit riders to request real-time bus arrival information. When a rider texts a bus stop number (e.g., “1234”) to 628246 short-code phone number, OCTA replies with the next bus arrival times and any relevant service alerts (e.g., if the stop is closed).

  • No unsolicited messages are ever sent.
  • No phone numbers are stored beyond transient technical processing to deliver responses.
  • No subscription or marketing messaging are involved

The service also supports standard “STOP” and “HELP” keywords to comply with industry requirements. However, these flows are functionally unnecessary because OCTA never sends messages unless directly responding to a rider’s request.

Swiftly does not sell, share, or retain phone numbers. Message and data rates may apply according to your mobile carrier.
