Only OC Line train 1668, the final southbound train of the day, is anticipated to complete its normal route from LA Union Station to Oceanside.

Metrolink Orange County Line and Inland Empire-Orange County Line Track Closures - October 25 & 26, 2025

On Saturday and Sunday, October 25th and 26th, train service on the Metrolink Orange County Line and Inland Empire-Orange County Line will be suspended due to track closures in order to perform scheduled railroad work across Orange County. Work will include track and signal work for the new span of the San Juan Creek Bridge Replacement Project and additional maintenance and rehabilitation projects in Orange County.

This will be a full closure of the LOSSAN corridor, stretching from Ventura to San Diego. Amtrak Pacific Surfliner service will also be affected by the track closure - Travel Advisories | Pacific Surfliner. Alternative transportation for rail passengers along the LOSSAN corridor is not being offered by Metrolink or Pacific Surfliner. As an alternative to train travel, Metrolink is encouraging passengers to check OCTA bus routes serving stations in Orange County.

In order to prepare the track and signals on the approach to the new span of the San Juan Creek bridge for service, test trains are anticipated at regular intervals from Sunday afternoon through early Monday morning. Due to the presence of track workers in the area, trains will be required to blow horns at railroad crossings in the vicinity of the bridge during the testing window. The impacted crossings will include:

  • Oso Road
  • La Zanja Street
  • Verdugo Street (San Juan Capistrano station)
  • Del Obispo Street
  • Avenida Aeropuerto
