Upcoming 55-Hour Closure of Lakeview Avenue

WHAT: Crews are expected to switch traffic to the newly constructed half of the Lakeview Avenue bridge and begin preparations to demolish the existing bridge, marking a major milestone for Segment 1 of the project. This traffic switch will also include the opening of the new westbound SR-91 off-ramp at Lakeview. A new temporary configuration will be in effect starting Monday, Aug. 31

To complete the traffic switch, crews will perform a 55-hour closure to temporarily reconfigure Lakeview Avenue. To safely accommodate this work, the following closures will be in place:

WHEN: As early as 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 28 to 4 a.m. Monday, Aug. 31

CLOSURES:

• Lakeview between Santa Ana Canyon Road and Riverdale Avenue
• Westbound SR-91 off-ramp at Lakeview
• Westbound SR-91 on-ramp at Lakeview
• Eastbound SR-91 on-ramp at Lakeview

Potential impacts may include backup alarms from construction vehicles, bright lights, noise, and traffic delays. This work may be loud. The schedule is subject to change due to inclement weather or unforeseen operational issues.

Lakeview Avenue Partial Bridge Demolition

Coming Soon! Following the 55-hour closure, crews will begin partial daytime demolition of the existing Lakeview Avenue bridge. Additional freeway closures are expected to occur in September to allow crews to safely demolish the remaining portion of the old bridge. Specific dates and times will be announced as they are confirmed. Stay tuned for updates.
