Project Details

SR-55 is a vital north-south freeway that links central Orange County and beyond to the coastal region. More than 260,000 vehicles use this stretch of SR-55 every day, and that number is expected to grow to nearly 275,000 vehicles by 2040. To address this demand, OCTA and Caltrans are working together to deliver improvements to SR-55 between I-405 and I-5.

Northbound SR-55 MacArthur Boulevard Off-Ramp Open

The northbound SR-55 MacArthur Boulevard off-ramp is open to motorists in its temporary configuration, with one left-turn and one right-turn lane at the MacArthur intersection. The single lane off-ramp for eastbound MacArthur has been permanently eliminated.

All improvements to the off-ramp are expected to be completed in 2025. In its ultimate configuration, the northbound off-ramp will include four lanes at the MacArthur intersection – two left-turn lanes and two right-turn lanes. The intersection will include a new traffic signal.
