Lauren Kleiman

City Member, Fifth District

Director Lauren Kleiman was selected to the OCTA Board to serve beginning in 2026 and was elected to the Newport Beach City Council in 2022, with a commitment to Public Safety and the goal of preserving the quality of life in Newport Beach.

Director Kleiman is the Vice Chair of the Newport Beach Aviation Committee, the City’s delegate on the Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG) and the Orange County Council of Governments (OCCOG).

Director Kleiman has a long history of service to the community, beginning as a member of the Aviation Committee before being appointed to the City’s Planning Commission, where she served for six years.

As a Founding Board Member of the Newport Beach Foundation, Director Kleiman started a Parent Education Series to help families navigate through the difficult issues they are faced with today, and furthered the organization’s mission to ignite the next generation of leadership in the City, through their high school scholarship and Distinguished Citizen programs.

Director Kleiman received her Juris Doctor degree and Certificate in Dispute Resolution from Pepperdine School of Law. She is an attorney and businesswoman who is passionate about giving her time to better the community.

Director Kleiman and her husband, Marc, feel so fortunate to be raising their son in Corona del Mar.
