Joy Lyndes

Councilmember Joy Lyndes represents the City of Encinitas District 3 and also is a licensed landscape architect, EcoDistrict Accredited professional, certified Historic Preservation Specialist and a fellow of the American Society of Landscape Architects. Her 40 years of professional design, planning and construction services for large-scale landscapes and community assets has focused on sustainability, resilience, improving environmental quality and enhancing community quality of life. These are skills she also brings to leadership in Encinitas and the region.

In the San Diego region, her interests and duties include Chair of the SANDAG Sustainable Communities Working Group, Past Chair of the Encina Wastewater Authority, Chair of the SANDAG Regional Habitat Conservation Task Force, Board member of both the San Dieguito Water Authority and San Diego County Water Authority.
