OC Connect 2026
The Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) is currently studying the potential development of a biking and walking trail connection along the former Pacific Electric Right-of-Way (PE ROW) corridor in Garden Grove and Santa Ana. This study is evaluating a concept that would create a 4-mile biking and walking trail connection between the downtown areas of Garden Grove and Santa Ana, as well as to the Santa Ana River Trail and the countywide 66-mile OC Loop bikeway. If advanced in the future, the project could improve the transportation network along the corridor and provide a well-connected active transportation route. From 2023 to 2024, the community shared feedback about their walking and biking experiences, as well as preferences for trail amenities, such as seating areas, lighting, and directional signs. The project team has reviewed this input received and is now providing an update on the study findings and conceptual trail design.
