Special bus service will run hourly during the Fair on Friday, Saturday and Sunday
July 6, 2011
ORANGE – The Orange County Transportation Authority is bringing back the OC Fair Express and kicking off the service by joining Food Truck Fare at the OC Fair & Event Center.

Multiple food trucks will gather between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Thursday, July 14 at the OC Fair & Event Center to jump start the OC Fair festivities. Those who attend will have an opportunity to win Disneyland tickets, movie passes, OC Fair Express tickets, OCLINK passes and OC Fair Premiums.

“This event is a great way for the public to check out the OC Fair Express and find out how easy and hassle free taking the bus to the Fair can be,” said OCTA Chair Patricia Bates, also the Fifth District Supervisor. “For the same price as a regular bus trip, fairgoers can enjoy a relaxing trip that will drop them off just steps from the gate.”

The OC Fair Express will provide non-stop direct service from six park and ride lots to the OC Fair from July 15 to Aug. 14. Buses will run hourly between 3 p.m. and midnight on Friday and 10 a.m. and midnight on Saturday and Sunday.

Riders can board for a regular one-way fare of $1.50 and catch the service at the Fullerton Park and Ride, Santa Ana Depot, Golden West Transportation Center in Huntington Beach, Anaheim Canyon Metrolink station, Tustin/Lincoln Park and Ride and Junipero Serra Park and Ride in San Juan Capistrano. All prepaid OCTA passes and valid Metrolink fares will be accepted.

OC Fair Express passengers also will receive a coupon good for $2 admission to the Fair.

”We are glad to be participating with the Orange County Transportation Authority on this promotion. Not only does it provide an easy way to get to the OC Fair , it also provides a great value to our Fair visitor,” said OC Fair & Event Center President Dr. Steven Beazley.
