The first 100 guests in Orange will receive a free round-trip ticket
March 19, 2012
ORANGE – Residents are invited to celebrate the Swallows’ Day Mercado Street Fair and Parade with a free Metrolink ride from Orange to San Juan Capistrano on Saturday, March 24.

The first 100 people will receive free round-trip Metrolink tickets to go to the parade and celebrate the return of the swallows to the San Juan Capistrano Mission every St. Joseph’s Day, March 19.

“The Swallows’ Day Parade is a wonderful community event that draws crowds each year to San Juan Capistrano and taking the train is an ideal way to beat the traffic, save time and money,” said OCTA Chair Paul Glaab, also the mayor of Laguna Niguel. “OCTA is very pleased to partner with Metrolink as a stress-free way to get to the festivities.”

Tickets will be handed out beginning at 8:30 a.m. at the Orange Station, 194 N. Atchison St. in Orange.

Free parking, entertainment, prizes and food provided by Ruby’s Diner and Streamliner Lounge will be available at the station before attendees depart on the 10:08 a.m. train to the San Juan Capistrano station.

Upon arrival at the San Juan Capistrano station, the parade and street fair is within walking distance away in Town Center Park, on El Camino Real just off Ortega Highway. The parade begins at 11 a.m. and the Mercado street fair and marketplace is open from
9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
