  • Proper Identification Required for Reduced Fares

    If you are 60 years and order, or disabled, you can take advantage of OC Bus reduced bus fares. When purchasing or using an OCTA reduced bus fare, you must show proper identification when purchasing and to the coach operator when boarding. Listed below are the acceptable types of identification cards and how to get them.

      If you are 60 years and order, or disabled, you can take advantage of OC Bus reduced bus fares. However, effective October 8, 2017, you must show proper identification when purchasing and to the coach operator when boarding. Listed below are the acceptable types of identification cards and how to get them.

      Senior Reduced Fare ID Information and Application
      If you are 60 years or older, you can enjoy riding OC Bus using a reduced fare. You must show proper identification when purchasing and using a reduced fare. The following identification cards are acceptable:

      • Valid drivers license
      • California DMV identification card
      • Medicare card
      • OCTA Senior Reduced Fare ID

      How to Apply for an OCTA Senior Reduced Fare ID
      You can apply in person at the OCTA store, located at 600 S. Main Street, Orange, CA 92868 or use one of the convenient options below.

      • Online:  Apply online for an OCTA Senior Reduced Fare ID number. This number can be used on the OC Bus mobile app, or to purchase from OCTA through the website, by phone or by mail. You may also apply for a physical card, which will be mailed to you within 7-10 business days.
      • By Mail:  Download the application and send the completed application to:

    • Proper Identification Required for Reduced Fares

      People with disabilities can enjoy riding OC Bus using a reduced fare. You must show proper identification when purchasing and using a reduced fare. The following identification cards are acceptable:

      • OCTA Disabled Reduced Fare ID
      • OCTA ACCESS Reduced Fare ID
      • OCTA ACCESS PCA Reduced Fare ID
      • Medicare card
      • Service Connected Veteran ID
      • Braille Institute ID
      • Persons with disabilities cards from other transit agencies
      • Customer receipt for a DMV Disabled Person Placard

      How to Apply for an OCTA Disabled Reduced Fare ID

      Download the appropriate application:

      Use this form if you need a doctors authorization or are in a special education program.

           

      Use this form if you have one of the following acceptable reduced fare ID cards. Submit a copy of your photo ID along with a copy of the acceptable reduced fare ID with your application.

           

      • Medicare card (Red, White and Blue card)
      • Service Connected Veteran ID
      • Braille Institute ID
      • Persons with disabilities cards from other transit agencies
      • Customer receipt for a DMV Disabled Person Placard

      Mail completed application to:

      OC Bus Mobile

      For an easy convenient way to purchase and use your Disabled reduced fares, go mobile with OC Bus Mobile. See below for instructions on how to obtain a mobile OCTA Disabled Reduced Fare ID.

      Entering your OCTA Reduced Fare ID

      1. If you currently have an OCTA Disabled Reduced Fare ID physical card, and have not previously used the OC Bus mobile app, you will need to call our Pass Sales Department at 714-560-5932 and provide us your OCTA Reduced Fare ID number and the email you used to create your OC Bus Mobile account. Once your email has been entered into our system, you will receive an email with your OC Bus Mobile Reduced Fare ID number.
      2. Then you simply enter your OC Bus Mobile Reduced Fare ID number in the OC Bus Mobile app by going to your accounts page, then into the “Personal Info” page, and then enter the number where it says ‘’Add Reduced Fare ID”
      3. Wait 15 minutes for account verification.
      4. Go to Buy Tickets; select Rider Type: Disabled
      5. You will now have access to purchase disabled reduced fares.

      2. Cal Optima health care card
      3. OCTA Reduced Fare Identification Eligibility approval form
      4. Social Security Benefits documentation paperwork
      5. Social Security Card
      6. Doctor's note
      7. Any other form not show or indicated above
