SR-91 Eastbound Loop On-Ramp Long-Term Closure

Crews are expected to demolish and reconstruct a retaining wall on eastbound SR-91 beneath the existing bridge and construct an abutment for the new bridge. This work will require a long-term closure of the eastbound SR-91 loop on-ramp from southbound Lakeview Avenue starting as early as Friday, May 30 for approximately two years.

The Lakeview bridge will be reconstructed in two phases to feature standard-width lanes, shoulders and sidewalks in each direction to better accommodate vehicle, bicycle and pedestrian traffic. Work in this segment also includes adding a new signalized on-ramp from the bridge that connects directly to SB SR-55 lanes – eliminating the bottleneck, weaving and short merging distance along westbound SR-91 between Lakeview and SR-55 connector.

During the long-term ramp closure, motorists traveling southbound on Lakeview Avenue will be directed to access the eastbound SR-91 using Imperial Highway.

Detour signs will be posted in advance. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead before traveling through the area.
