Regional Park Escape

The Laguna Niguel/Mission Viejo Station is the ideal spot to connect with the Laguna Niguel Regional Park.

It is under 4 miles from the station and can be easily reachable using ride share services or for free on OC Flex. We've mapped out a walk that starts in front of Whole Foods and guides you around the lake at the regional park. When you return there are some great places for snacks or a meal before returning to the station.

The walk

The walk around the regional park is fairly flat with only one small hill when you get to the dam on the north end of the lake. Here’s a more detailed map of the route. Here are some route highlights and suggestions:

1. Start with a cup of coffee at Peet’s Coffee. Take it to-go and begin your walk.
2. Follow the path to Alicia then enter the park at the west entrance.
3. Enjoy the bird habitats and make your way to the lake.
4. Follow the path along the west side until you reach the bridge.
5. Loop back and enjoy great views of the lake.
6. Reward yourself with either a snack or grab a meal at one of the restaurants in the center.
