Director Jennifer Mendoza has been a member of the Lemon Grove City Council for over 10 years. Before running for office she served on the Lemon Grove Planning Commission as Chair for 10 years. She currently represents her city on the SANDAG Transportation Committee, on the board of the Metropolitan Transit System, and on the Transportation, Communications and Public Works committee of the California League of Cities. Director Mendoza worked for over 40 years as a Litigation Paralegal and Law Librarian for a large law firm in downtown San Diego. She has a Bachelor's degree in Social Welfare and her graduate studies were in Political Science. She grew up in the East County area of San Diego and has lived in Lemon Grove for the last 25 years. Director Mendoza has volunteered for the San Diego Museum of Art and the Old Globe Theater for over 25 years. She co-manages three food distribution events a month for needy families in the Lemon Grove community. She's an active member of the Lions and Soroptimist organizations. In addition to her volunteer work, her interests include travel, gardening, cooking, music, opera and reading. Most importantly, she's a proud grandma to Valentina, Melina and Auston
