OC Fair Express
- In July, for the fifth consecutive year, OCTA provided the OC Fair Express service, funded in part by the Mobile Source Air Pollution Reduction Review Committee.This year’s OC Fair Express recorded nearly 80,000 boardings.
Angels Express
- The popular Angels Express – which encourages fans to use Metrolink to get to Angel games – recorded a banner year with more than 54,000 boardings, nearly 24 percent above last year and the highest ridership ever for the service.
Youth and college passes
- For the period June-August, ridership generated from youth pass sales increased 3.5 percent over the same period last year.
- Since the introduction of the new 30-Day College Bus Pass in January, more than 4,000 passes were sold.
“Be the One” human trafficking awareness campaign
- OCTA’s “Be the One” (BT1) public awareness campaign won numerous awards for its efforts to alert bus riders to the problem of sex and labor trafficking and to encourage people to be the one to take action by calling a national hotline or alerting a coach operator.
Metrolink promotions
- OCTA hosted events to encourage Metrolink ridership to the Dana Point Festival of Whales, the San Clemente Ocean Festival, Lunar New Year events and other activities.
- Promotion of the $10 Weekend Day Pass, on the Orange County and Inland Empire / Orange County lines, helped increase weekend ridership by a total of 14 percent in Fiscal Year 2014-15 compared to the prior fiscal year.
- The 91 Line added weekend service in July.
Support the Solar Decathlon
- In October, OCTA hosted events, distributed brochures and used social media to encourage riders to use Metrolink and the Amtrak Pacific Surfliner to get to the Irvine-based Solar Decathlon.
91 Express Lanes 20th Anniversary
- To commemorate the 20th anniversary of the 91 Express Lanes, OCTA reached out to current and potential customers. Hundreds of existing customers responded with personal stories of how the 91 Express Lanes made an important life moment possible and many new customers opened accounts.
New OCTA website
- In September, OCTA launched a redesigned website with enhanced capabilities and visitor-friendly functionality.
