Dear Friend of Transportation,
Since its formation in 1991, the Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) has kept residents and commuters moving throughout the 34 cities and unincorporated areas of Orange County. OCTA’s responsibilities, programs and services impact every aspect of transportation within the state’s third largest county. This year’s annual report, “The Many Ways We Move You,” highlights OCTA’s significant accomplishments during fiscal year 2012-2013.
OCTA kept people moving by reducing freeway congestion, improving safety and efficiency on our local roads, adding new bus service and regional multimodal connections, helping people find ways to leave their cars home, and providing safe, convenient transportation to those with special needs.
In addition, this past year marked the first full-year implementation of the M2020 Plan, OCTA’s blueprint for continued advancement of projects funded by the half-cent local transportation sales tax, Measure M2 (M2). Despite the significant economic challenges that have occurred during the past few years, OCTA continues to expedite projects and deliver on promises made to voters through the many projects funded by M2.
Your support makes these accomplishments possible. With your help, we will continue to keep Orange County moving now and in the future.
Sincerely,
Chief Executive Officer
