The launch of Bravo! Route 543 and the continued success of special programs such as the OC Fair Express highlight a year of keeping Orange County moving.
For more than 40 years, Orange County residents have relied on OCTA buses. This fiscal year, OCTA continued its heritage of innovative efficiency with the launch of Bravo! Route 543, a limited-stop bus route that serves Harbor Boulevard. The first of its kind in Orange County, Bravo! makes 15 stops instead of the regular 52 and trims travel time by nearly half an hour along the entire route. Also, ridership on the popular OC Fair Express reached an all-time high of more than 58,000 boardings, an increase of 26.6 percent over last fiscal year. Funded by a grant from the Mobile Source Air Pollution Reduction Review Committee (MSRC), the OC Fair Express provided service from 10 park-and-ride locations to the Orange County Fair and helped reduce traffic and air pollution. This includes two new routes – one in Newport Beach, the other in Orange – that were added based on last year’s success.
