OCTA began final design for improvements along I-5 between Avenida Pico and San Juan Creek Road.

OCTA continued the environmental study on the SR-55 between the I-405 and the I-5 to increase capacity including mixed-flow lanes, carpool lanes and auxiliary lanes.

OCTA released the draft environmental report to add new lanes in each direction of the I-405 to serve Costa Mesa, Fountain Valley, Garden Grove, Huntington Beach, Los Alamitos, Seal Beach and Westminster.

Key freeway highlights

I-5 between State Route 55 (SR-55) and State Route 57 (SR-57) OCTA continued conducting an environmental study to add lanes to the I-5 between the SR-55 and the SR-57 in Santa Ana.

I-5/El Toro Road Interchange The project study team identified four alternatives to update and improve the I-5/El Toro Road interchange.

I-5/ State Route 74 (SR-74) Interchange Caltrans completed the final design for the reconstruction of the interchange at the SR-74 in San Juan Capistrano.

SR-57 Northbound, Katella Avenue to Lincoln Avenue Construction is ongoing to add a new northbound lane on the SR-57 in the City of Anaheim.

SR-57 Northbound, Orangethorpe Avenue to Lambert Road Construction of a new northbound lane on the SR-57 was 70 percent complete as of June 30, 2012.

SR-91 Westbound, SR-57 to I-5 OCTA, in partnership with Caltrans, entered the pre-construction phase of development for a new westbound general-purpose lane to State Route 91 (SR-91) between SR-57 and I-5.

SR-91, between SR-55 and State Route 241 (SR-241) Construction to add a new six-mile general purpose lane in both the westbound and eastbound direction reached 65 percent completion.

West County Connectors Construction on the West County Connectors Project progressed, with approximately 40 percent completion for both segments at the end of the fiscal year.
