Dear Friend of Transportation:

Throughout every year since it began in 1991, the Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) has kept Orange County moving. I am pleased to share this annual report entitled, “Leading Change. Inspiring New Ways to Travel,” which features OCTA’s significant accomplishments during fiscal year 2011-2012.

During the past year, OCTA led the way for change by focusing on reducing traffic congestion on our freeways, improving Orange County’s network of more than 7,300 miles of local streets and roads, providing bus and rail transportation to a growing number of customers, and initiating an environmental program to mitigate freeway construction impacts and improve water quality.

The accomplishments that follow resulted from our continued efforts to develop and deliver transportation solutions to enhance the quality of life and facilitate Orange County mobility. Those efforts also inspired Orange County residents to try new ways to travel, as evidenced by increased bus and rail ridership.

These accomplishments would not have been possible without your support. With your continued help, we will inspire more people to discover new ways to travel as we deliver transportation solutions to keep Orange County moving today and well into tomorrow.

Sincerely,

Darrell Johnson
Chief Executive Officer
