Pledge to Bike this Month for a Chance to Win an E-Bike

It’s Bike Month! Pledge today to ride at least once in May for a chance to win an Aventon Soltera 2.5 e-bike* valued at $1,199, courtesy of our sponsors. With more than 1,000 miles of bike lanes and trails, it’s easy to bike in Orange County.

Thanks to everyone who joined our Bike Rally on May 13. Nearly 140 people came together to celebrate and show support for biking in the community.
Bike Trails You Can Reach by OC Bus

After taking the Bike Month pledge, put your plans into motion with these bike trails easily reached by bus. All OCTA buses are equipped with bike racks, so you can bring your ride along for the trip. Learn how to load your bike onboard.

Huntington Beach → Santa Ana River Trail
Ride this long, flat scenic beach path south toward Newport or head inland on the Santa Ana River Trail. The best access is via Huntington Beach and the river mouth area near Pacific Coast Highway.

Recommended OCTA routes:
  • Route 1 along Pacific Coast Highway
  • Route 25 via Goldenwest
  • Route 29 / 529 via Beach Blvd
  • Route 70 to Goldenwest Transportation Center
Jeffrey Open Space Trail in Irvine
Start at Heritage Community Park or any Jeffrey Trail access point and ride a straight, landscaped greenbelt trail.

Recommended OCTA routes:
  • Route 79
  • Route 86
OC Loop Segments
Check out the OC Loop, nearly 60 miles of bikeways throughout Orange County with connections to neighboring areas. Access the trails from the Fullerton Transportation Center and ARTIC.

Apply by May 31 to the OCTA Teen Council

The OCTA Teen Council gives high school students a chance to explore the transportation world, share their ideas, and connect with peers and professionals while building leadership and teamwork skills. Along the way, they contribute input on real projects and help shape programs like the Youth Ride Free program.

To apply, students must be ages 13–18 by Sept. 1, 2026, live in Orange County, and be entering grades 9–12. The application includes short essays and a letter of recommendation. Learn more and apply.

Just steps from the Orange Station, the Hilbert Museum of California Art showcases an outstanding collection of California Scene paintings, illustration art, and classic works that celebrate the state’s culture and history.

San Juan Capistrano Station: Step Into California History
Take a short four-minute walk to the iconic Mission San Juan Capistrano with its beautifully preserved architecture, exhibits, gardens, and centuries of California history.

LA’s Union Station: Celebrate Art & Culture
From Union Station, connect directly to LA Metro’s new D Line for easy access to some of Los Angeles’ most celebrated cultural destinations. Explore Museum Row, home to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), the world-famous La Brea Tar Pits, and the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures.

Memorial Day Transit Schedules

On Memorial Day, Monday, May 25, we honor U.S. military personnel who gave their lives while serving in the United States armed forces.

OC Bus will run on a Sunday/holiday schedule.

Metrolink will operate on a Saturday schedule and will offer a $10 Holiday Pass.
