    • Transferring To Connecting Transit Systems

      OC Bus passes are accepted by most connecting transit systems. An additional fare may be required. For information on what is accepted by connecting transit systems, please contact that transit system directly. For an automated phone system that allows you to connect to over 40 local bus, rail, rideshare, highway and other transportation agencies, including OCTA, you can also call 511.

      Transferring to Long Beach Transit

      • Long Beach Transit honors an OCTA Day Pass for one transfer only on connecting routes.
      • OC Bus Day Passes will not be honored on return trips originating on Long Beach Transit.

      Transferring to Los Angeles Metro

      • Metro honors OC Bus 30-Day Passes on Metro bus routes 62 and 460 that travel into Orange County or connect with OCTA buses. An additional fare may be required to travel on some Metro bus routes.
      • Metro Rail lines will not honor OC Bus passes as a transfer. The customer must pay a full fare. 
    • Transferring to OCTA Buses From Connecting Transit Systems

      OCTA will accept valid transfers from connecting transit systems at all transfer points. These transfers will be valid for one boarding only and have no value towards the purchase of a day pass. The driver will keep your transfer upon boarding an OCTA bus.

      Additional fare for OCTA express buses 701, 721 and 794

      • Passengers transferring to Routes 701, 721 and 794 will need to pay an additional $4.00, or $4.25 for seniors and persons with disabilities with proper identification.

      Transferring from Los Angeles Metro

      • Metro day passes cannot be used on OC Bus buses, only monthly passes will be accepted.
      • OC Bus will honor Metro monthly bus passes, MTA TAP and MTA TAP cards with EZ sticker at all bus stops along the line on the nine OCTA routes that serve Los Angeles County (1, 30, 38, 42, 46, 50, 60, 701, 721, 757 and 758) or at bus stops where OC Bus buses directly connect with Metro buses.
      • For MTA 460 transferring customers, OC Bus will honor Metro monthly bus passes, MTA TAP cards, or Interagency Transfers for one boarding at the following locations:
        • Fullerton Park-and-Ride: Routes 25, 26, 33 and 35
        • Disneyland East Shuttle Area (on Harbor Blvd.): Routes 43 and 83
        • Magnolia Ave. stops between Orangethorpe Ave. and La Palma Ave. only
        • La Palma Ave. stops between Magnolia Ave. and Beach Blvd. only
        • Beach Blvd. stops between La Palma Ave. and La Mirada Ave. only
      • The Los Angeles County Regional EZ Pass is NOT part of this program.


      Transferring from Riverside Transit Agency

      OC Bus will honor RTA one-day and 31-day passes on OC Bus buses directly connecting with RTA route 216 and 794.

    • Metrolink and Amtrak Trains

      Only OC buses that directly connect with Metrolink trains at or near rail stations will honor Metrolink and Amtrak Pacific Surfliner tickets and passes. Only OC Bus routes 1, 21, 24, 25, 26, 29, 38, 43, 47/A, 50, 53, 54, 56, 57, 59, 70, 71, 83, 85, 86, 90, 91, 143, 153, 206, 211, 213/A, 411, 430, 453, 454, 462, 463, 472, 473, 480, 490,543 and 560, accept valid Metrolink tickets as full fare for travel to and from stations. A valid Metrolink ticket must be shown each time you board the bus; passengers must show a valid Metrolink pass or ticket, swipe a valid OC Bus pass**, or pay the cash fare to board. 

      * Seasonal only. Operates when Anaheim Ducks have home games.

      ** Additional fare may be required for express routes.

      Transferring to Laguna Beach Municipal Transit: OCTA all day passes can only be accepted for a transfer at OCTA bus stops. These stops are posted with OCTA signs and LBMT signs located on Laguna Canyon, South Coast Highway, North Coast Highway and the Laguna Beach Depot.
