As part of its commitment to voters, OCTA collaborates with state and federal wildlife agencies to acquire land and fund habitat restoration projects to offset the environmental impacts of OC Go freeway projects. Through the Environmental Mitigation Program, OCTA has acquired more than 1,300 acres that will be permanently preserved as open space and funded 12 restoration projects. OCTA continues to bring a balanced approach to improving transportation in Orange County while also protecting the valuable natural resources that make it such a special place to live.
