School’s Open! Make Sure Kids Have Passes for Free OC Bus Rides
Did you know that youth aged 6 to 18 can ride free on OC Bus to school, work and fun? Youth Free Ride passes for the 2023-24 school year are now available from your child’s participating Orange County school.
Last year’s pass (orange) will continue to be valid until September 30, 2023. Don’t wait to get the new 2023-24 pass, which is valid until September 30, 2024!

Meet Your Driver: Amir Aziz
Whether sporting his OCTA Hawaiian shirt or a regular coach operator uniform, Amir Aziz has one goal: To help his OC Bus customers. On an average day, that means delivering his passengers safely to their destinations on his favorite, Route 55.
Other times, Amir goes the extra mile to assist, like the time he reunited a lost senior with her daughter. Recently, he helped young new riders gain confidence and learn safe practices when boarding and riding. When a jostling group pressed forward, he opened the bus door and said, “Don’t come in. Let’s talk. I'm not going to leave anybody behind and I will take you all home. But you need to line up and stay behind the yellow line to be safe.”
He's proud of the service provided by OC Bus and believes the summertime Hawaiian shirts enhance customer satisfaction. “When riders come in from the street, we offer a clean bus and a smile,” he said. “When they see the bright colors of the shirt, they interact. It makes them happy.”
A former bus rider, Amir has been helping customers since 2006 after being recruited by an OC Bus driver. He recommends the career and the company: “They look at different ways to make life better, show appreciation and have a great retirement program,” he said.
