The OC Fair, an Orange County summertime favorite, is back! Now through August 13, enjoy the rides, food and entertainment that only OC Fair delivers.
OC Bus is the best way to get there. Four OC Bus routes – 47, 55, 71 & 178 – offer safe and efficient service to the OC Fairgrounds. Don’t forget to use the OC Bus App – the most convenient way to purchase and redeem bus passes, access schedules, plan your trip and more.
Insider Tip: The OC Fair is closed Monday & Tuesday. Advance tickets are required. Visit here to learn more about the fair and purchase tickets.
Explore the incredible world of butterflies on Saturday, August 5! Pack up the kids (those 17 and under ride free on weekends!) and enjoy a relaxing train ride to San Juan Capistrano. A brief 5-minute walk to Los Rios Street lets you immerse yourself in nature, gardening and all things butterfly-related. The event is free and Metrolink offers adults a round trip for just $10. Enter now for a chance to win 2 free round trip Metrolink tickets to the festival. Visit the festival website for details.
Insider Tip: Ranked #1 in family-friendly journeys, San Juan Capistrano boasts that famous mission, a petting zoo, unique restaurants and watering holes, and the Los Rios District, California’s oldest neighborhood. Grab the free trolley at the station and connect with points around town and Dana Point.
In June, We Connected with Thousands of You!
Last month, the OCTA team had the privilege of meeting many of you in person. We connected with a combined total of more than 1,350 community members at two events, sharing information about OC Bus, OC Streetcar, the Youth Ride Free Program, and freeway improvement projects.
On June 24, we celebrated Pride Month and shared transportation information at the OC Pride Parade and Festival in downtown Santa Ana, steps away from the new OC Streetcar tracks. OCTA Directors Vincente Sarmiento, Jessie Lopez, and Katrina Foley joined approximately 5,000 others at the event. Earlier in June, we also welcomed visitors at the Juneteenth festival at Centennial Park in Santa Ana.
We eagerly await the chance to meet you at future events! Please stop by, say hello and spin the prize wheel whenever you see the OCTA booth…we have plenty of fun and info to share.
Join us in August for another great community celebration.

Our Balanced Budget Champions Transit
We recently approved a $1.7 billion budget that keeps essential transportation improvements moving forward while responsibly planning for a balanced and sustainable transportation future for Orange County.
The approved budget invests heavily in public transit – constituting about 52% of the total budget. We’re improving local streets and moving toward a goal of zero emissions to help improve air quality for the entire community.
