The Local Government Relations Department serves as liaison to, and between, OCTA and Orange County cities, the County of Orange and other special districts throughout the County. Local Government staff is responsible for tracking all city council action items as they relate to OCTA projects and as well as issues that affect transportation. This responsibility requires that staff work closely with all elected officials, city managers, public works directors and staff in the 34 cities in Orange County to ensure that cities are aware of OCTA programs and projects. Additionally, Local Government Relations provides support to the Orange County Council of Governments.
Another key role of the local government relations staff is to communicate information collected from cities to OCTA Board Members and internal staff, and to involve Board Members in OCTA projects and services in the community.
